マニアック観光地13回目は、よみうりランドまで少しお出かけ。遊園地に隣接する、新感覚フラワーパークHANA･BIYORI（ハナビヨリ）を特集します。「エンターテイメント型植物園」と銘打ち2020年3月23日にオープン。四季を問わずに満開の花に出会える屋外・屋内を含む展示、花とデジタル技術を融合したプロジェクションマッピングのショーも楽しめます。日本最大級のフラワーシャンデリアがあるHANA・BIYORI館、彩りの小路、国指定重要文化財の妙見菩薩像などが見れる聖なる森、空見の丘、日帰り温浴施設の花景の湯もあり、遊園地に行かなくても大人が一日楽しめる注目スポットです！

The 13th installment of our offbeat tourist destinations takes a brief trip to Yomiuriland. We'll be featuring the innovative Flower Park HANA･BIYORI adjacent to the amusement park. Branded as an "entertainment botanical garden," it opened its doors on March 23, 2020. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions indoors and outdoors, showcasing blossoms in full bloom regardless of the season, as well as a projection mapping show that blends flowers with digital technology. Highlights include the HANA･BIYORI Pavilion, home to Japan's largest flower chandelier, Irodori no Komochi, Seinaru Mori featuring the national treasure Myoken Bodhisattva statue, Sora-mi Hill, and the day-trip hot spring facility Kakei no Yu, all offering adults a day of enjoyment without needing to visit the amusement park!

アクセスは京王線で新宿から最短21分。京王よみうりランド駅から徒歩だと坂をのぼって13分ほどかかるので、無料のシャトルバスがおすすめ。入園して間もなく、HANA・BIYORI館の脇に一面の花畑が広がっています。ガーデンデザイナーPIET OUDOLF氏による植え替えの少ない宿根草を中心としたサステナブルガーデンで、日本では今まであまり見られなかった新しいガーデンの形です。至るところに植え込みがあり、色とりどりの鮮やかな花が私たちを出迎えてくれます。メインの会場に入る前から多種多様な花に出会えて、華やかさについつい笑みがこぼれます。

Access is just 21 minutes from Shinjuku via the Keio Line. It's about a 13-minute uphill walk from Keio Yomiuriland Station, so taking the free shuttle bus is recommended. Shortly after entering, you'll encounter a vast flower field beside the HANA･BIYORI Pavilion. Designed by garden designer Piet Oudolf, it features a sustainable garden primarily composed of low-maintenance perennial plants, a new form of garden rarely seen in Japan until now. Everywhere you look, there are flowerbeds, and vibrant flowers of various colors greet you. Even before entering the main venue, you'll encounter a wide variety of flowers, and the exuberance of colors will surely bring a smile to your face.

いよいよメインのHANA・BIYORI館へ。入口にも華やかな演出とフォトスポットがあるので、ぜひ！中に入ると、天井からの吊り花が数多く目に飛び込んできます。ベゴニア、フクシア、ペチュニア、ゼラニウム、サクソルムなど300鉢を超えるフラワーシャンデリアで、その総数は日本最大級だそう。奥に見えているのは、パラボラッチョ。樹齢推定400年を超える大樹です。スペイン語で「酔っ払いの木」を意味するユニークな不思議な形状をしています。他にも花を活かしたフォトスポットが多く用意されているので写真を撮るのも楽しんで。さらに奥にはワークショップなども行う植物のショップゾーンもあり。

Finally, it's time to enter the main HANA･BIYORI Pavilion. Don't miss the vibrant decorations and photo spots at the entrance! Once inside, you'll be greeted by numerous hanging flowers from the ceiling. The Flower Chandelier boasts over 300 pots of flowers including begonias, fuchsias, petunias, geraniums, and saxifrages, making it one of the largest in Japan. In the background, you'll spot the Parabolaccho, a majestic tree estimated to be over 400 years old, with a unique and whimsical shape resembling a drunkard's stance, as its name suggests in Spanish. There are also plenty of other photo spots utilizing flowers, so have fun snapping pictures. Additionally, further inside, there's a plant shop zone where workshops and other activities are held.

小腹が減ったら隣接の家景の湯でランチはいかが？
How about lunch at the adjacent Kakei no Yu when you start feeling peckish?

隣接する日帰り温泉施設「家景の湯」には、レストランもあり。HANA･BIYORIのチケットがあればレストランにも入場可能なので、小腹が減ったらレストラン「美食ノ極」での食事もできます。今回は、HANA・BIYORI館で行われるプロジェクションマッピングのショーまでに少し時間があったので、ランチで腹ごなし。銀座おのでら監修のメニューなどおつまみから定食までかなり充実しています。時間に余裕がある方はHANA･BIYORIと家景の湯を両方楽しめるチケットもあります。

Adjacent to HANA･BIYORI is the day-trip hot spring facility, Kakei no Yu, which also features a restaurant. With a ticket to HANA･BIYORI, you can access the restaurant as well, so if you're feeling peckish, you can enjoy a meal at the restaurant "Bishoku no Kiwami." Since there was some time before the projection mapping show at the HANA･BIYORI Pavilion, we decided to have lunch to satisfy our hunger. The menu, supervised by Ginza Onodera, offers a wide range of dishes from appetizers to set meals, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. For those with ample time, there are tickets available to enjoy both HANA･BIYORI and Kakei no Yu.

毎日開催！花とデジタルのアートショーは必見
A must-see: the daily Flower and Digital Art Show!

花とデジタルのアートショーは、毎日開催中( 12:00/13:30/15:00/16:30/18:00/19:30）なので、時間をあわせてぜひ見て欲しい！「イマーシブ(没入型)空間」がテーマのプロジェクションマッピングで、音や参加型の仕掛けで、観客が没入できる空間を実現しています。最後は、観客の感情を分析してエンディングが切り替わるマルチエンディング型。 約５分間が楽しくてあっという間に過ぎました。パラボラッチョには映像が投影されて、演出の重要な一部になっています。子どもも大人も楽しめる演出は必見。

The Flower and Digital Art Show is held daily at multiple times (12:00/13:30/15:00/16:30/18:00/19:30), so I highly recommend catching it at a suitable time! The theme of the projection mapping is "Immersive Space," creating a space where the audience can immerse themselves through sound and interactive elements. It features a multi-ending format where the ending changes based on the analysis of the audience's emotions. It's about 5 minutes of pure enjoyment, and time flies by quickly. The Parabolaccho serves as an integral part of the show with images projected onto it. This production, enjoyable for both children and adults, is a must-see!

ゆったりした緑がいっぱいのカフェスペースとスターバックスコーヒーがあるのも魅力のひとつ。日本で初めて本物の植栽でつくられたSTARBUCKSのサイネージもあります。オフィスやカフェなどの緑化デザインを手がける室内緑化の専門チームparkERsによる空間デザインで、水辺や木の下に集まりたくなる習性をデザインに活かしているのだとか。シンボルツリーと水盤をカフェエリアの中心に配置し、波紋が広がるように座席がレイアウトされています。大きく取られた窓からは、多くの光が射しこみ、遊園地を背景に可憐な花畑が一面広がる様子をみながらカフェを楽しむことができます。ぜひ一日たっぷりと植物との時間を楽しんでみて。

One of the charming features is the café space filled with lush greenery and a Starbucks coffee shop. It's the first Starbucks in Japan to be created with real plantings. Designed by the indoor greening specialist team parkERs, known for their green design in offices and cafes, the space is designed to take advantage of our natural inclination to gather around water features and under trees. Symbolic trees and a water basin are placed at the center of the café area, with seats arranged to mimic the spreading ripples. Through the large windows, plenty of natural light floods in, allowing you to enjoy the café while overlooking the amusement park with its lovely flower fields. Be sure to spend a full day enjoying your time surrounded by plants!
